An important part of marriage counseling is bringing your therapist towards your marriage. This can be tricky for a lot of couples who may be apprehensive about opening up to somewhat of a stranger, or are just distressing expressing their feelings in general.
As you begin to name the things that you enjoy, like reading, meditating or doing crafts, that therapist begins to plug a new cup. Once the new cup is almost completely filled, the therapist is asked to stop. The little room that is left near the top of the glass is what other people should add to your happiness.
When therapists first talk with a couple, they ask them to take up out the following scenario to deal with. Choose your favorite actor or simply actress, or one that you sense best illustrates you, and describe a scene from your life. The following also allows your therapist to find out a little more about you will as well. Is the scene you can be describing light and fun, or does it have more of a serious tone? From the stage you choose to portray, you your spouse can then continue the session by addressing that concerns that were brought up.

After recognizing how quickly your glass can be emptied, the specialist works to address the things in life that add to the happiness and thus fill your cup. It is important, to know what you can do to make yourself happy. End worrying about the needs of others for a moment and focus on your own desires.
Those stressors usually range from home problems, to bills and arguments. For each thing that could be listed, the therapist takings to poke a hole in the cup. Soon that liquid begins to drain and the cup is emptied. This is done to make up that the more stress you will add to your life, the reduced happy you will be.
